- Consent: Where you have given us specific consent to process your data for a particular purpose, such as receiving optional communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Personal data we collect
TeleoTV collects minimal personal data. The specific data collected depends on how you use the service:
- Without an account: Your name, which is collected solely for the purpose of personalising your experience within the app. No email address or password is required.
- With a registered account: Your name, email address, and password. This enables cloud sync, cross-device access, and allows us to respond to your enquiries.
The submission of personal information is voluntary. You may use TeleoTV without creating an account, but doing so may limit access to certain features such as cross-device sync.
Bug reports and feedback:When using the bug report or “something is wrong” feature within the app, we collect a diagnostic snapshot to help diagnose and resolve issues. This may include your name and email address (optional, so that we can respond to you), as well as technical diagnostics associated with your account or device, such as app state, account identifiers, selected region and channel preferences, notification status, device information (model, operating system version, app version), and similar troubleshooting metadata. This data is used solely for troubleshooting and improving the service.
No other personal data is collected beyond the above and the automatically collected identifiers described below.
Automatically collected data
For statistical purposes, TeleoTV may collect non-personal identification information related to users' interactions with our website and mobile apps, such as IP address, device unique identifiers, usage analytics, browser type and version, language, session records, and access dates and times. This data is used to understand how users interact with our service and to improve performance and reliability.
How we use your data
Registered user data is backed up to the cloud and accessible on all TeleoTV platforms with internet coverage. Your email address is used as a contact reference, enabling TeleoTV to respond to user enquiries, comments, and feedback. Your name is used to personalise your experience within the app. TeleoTV is accessible on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. The use of the app on any device and synchronisation between platforms is free of charge.
Cookies and tracking technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure the website functions correctly and to collect analytics data that helps us improve the service. We use Google Analytics on our website to understand usage patterns such as pages visited, session duration, and referral sources. This data is collected in aggregate and is not used to personally identify individual users.
Our mobile apps use Google Analytics for usage analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic data, which helps us identify and fix technical issues. Crashlytics may collect device information, app state at the time of a crash, and stack traces. This data is used solely for improving app stability and is not used for advertising purposes.
TeleoTV does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies on either the website or mobile apps. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of the website.
Third-party service providers
We use the following categories of third-party service providers to operate and improve TeleoTV. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by contractual obligations to protect your information:
- Cloud infrastructure: Amazon Web Services (AWS), hosted in the United Kingdom region, for hosting, database, and storage services.
- Analytics: Google Analytics (website and mobile app) for understanding usage patterns, and Firebase Crashlytics (mobile app) for crash reporting and diagnostics.
- Push notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) and Apple Push Notification Service (iOS) for delivering push notifications to your device.
- EPG data: PA Media, which provides the TV listing data displayed within the app.
Transfer and overseas disclosure of data
TeleoTV does not transfer data to third parties without obtaining prior consent, except in exceptional cases such as legal investigations or in the use of external service providers for data processing and storage. In such cases, information is transferred to carefully selected providers with a commitment to privacy transparency. In the event of a change of legal form, user information may be transferred in accordance with this Privacy Policy and relevant data protection laws.
User data is primarily stored and processed on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the United Kingdom region. Some data may also be processed in Australia (business operations) or the United States (via third-party service providers such as Google Analytics and Firebase). Where personal information is disclosed to overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure those recipients handle the information in accordance with the APPs and, where applicable, the UK GDPR requirements for international transfers.
Data retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected:
- Account data: Retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, your data is permanently removed after a 28-day grace period.
- Automatically collected data: IP addresses, device identifiers, and usage analytics are retained for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
- Crash reports: Firebase Crashlytics data is retained for up to 12 months for diagnostic purposes.
- Bug reports: Bug reports and attached diagnostics are retained for up to 28 days, after which they are automatically deleted. Bug report data is also removed during account cleanup upon account deletion.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and applicable data protection legislation, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: You may request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Right to erasure: You may request the deletion of your personal data. You can do this directly via the Reset App Data option in the app (Profile tab), or by contacting us. For full instructions, see our Delete Account page.
- Right to restrict processing: You may request that we limit the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability: You may request to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
- Right to object: You may object to the processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interest as our lawful basis.
- Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

Policy regarding children
The TeleoTV service is intended for users aged 18 and over. Users under the age of 18 may only use TeleoTV with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us at hello@teleotv.co.uk to request its deletion.
How we protect your information
TeleoTV takes appropriate measures to ensure the protection of your personal information, including your username, password, and data stored on our servers, against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All sensitive and private data exchange between the app and its servers is encrypted and protected by SSL/TLS communication.
